I took the last color scheme and drafted this table or wall size quilt using four of the blocks in a diagonal set.

ReplyDeleteYour block is beautiful and I like how the design is balanced with the stems and circles in the top part of the block and then repeated in the lower section. My color scheme would have green, tan, brown and a rusty red.

I would use cheddar, rust, red and brown. I love that little wall-sized piece! I think I have just the right fabric over here, under these boxes...(disappears from view, ensuing avalanche reveals a second color scheme option)

ReplyDeleteI love the rose and cream hues that you used in your last sample along with the wall quilt you showed. Otherwise I would use bright summer colors for more of a beach house look.

been a while since I have traveled there and my sister tells me some of the shops where we acquired memories are no longer there....but perhaps there is a quilt shop in their place.
I would choose turquoise, white, and the
colors of antique pansies for the flowers. My
real antique pansies are on the deck outside
my window. They may have a true test of survival
as we have been in the 80's yesterday and today
and are to descend to the 30's and 40's with rain
and snow showers.
I would maybe play with this combination, a turquoise, a range of greens including yellow-green, cream, and a bit of orange-red

ReplyDeleteI believe I would do your block in brights, perhaps mix in some from Kaffe Fassett and other similar fabrics. What I like about your block is that I feel like I could do it with my limited applique skills, and that in turn could make me more confident in applique. Beautiful pattern!
